Forma Group

Our company was founded in Macomer, in the center of Sardinia. It has grown to become one of the most important Sardinian companies in the processing of lamb, beef and pork, capable of supplying quality meat and sausages to the island and mainland.
Today, the second generation of entrepreneurs continues along the path carved by the founders. They have created a company that is able to follow the whole production chain,
from farming to slaughtering, butchering, packaging, and transporting products.

Farming. We farm sheep, cattle and pigs on our own farms, located around Macomer, in central Sardinia, an area rich in nature. Animal welfare is the guiding principle behind our work as farmers, because only healthy farming methods (as close as possible to traditional farming) produce the best meat. Our farms in Sardinia benefit from an uncontaminated environment that allows us to farm cattle, pigs and sheep of the highest quality. And that’s not all: Forma pays particular attention to the enhancement of local production. To this end, it has implemented some supply chain projects for the production of local Sardinian meat.

Slaughtering and butchering. Slaughtering and butchering take place in our facilities in Macomer, and are an essential part of our work. In our plants, we follow the strict parameters imposed by our quality processes and the laws in force. Our meat is prepared and processed for our customers (both end consumers and butchers) with the aim of maintaining and, if possible, improving on the high quality standards that we have always offered the market.

Certifications and quality. All the quality controls in our supply chain are carried out according to the HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) framework. This system is used to ensure consumer health and safety for all food products, and covers all the processes in our supply chain, from primary production to sale to the public.

Charcuterie. An important part of the Group’s activities is the production of cured meats, which are mainly marketed under the Salumi di Macomer brand. Produced in our factories, Salumi di Macomer cured meats are prepared according to traditional local recipes and are always aged inside our factories. During the manufacturing process we follow the teachings of our heritage, and, by using quality meats, we always offer a product that delivers the best natural taste. Processing entirely takes place in strictly controlled environments according to hygienic and sanitary regulations so that we can guarantee products that are also perfect from a health point of view.

We process meat farmed in Sardinia or selected from the best Italian and foreign farms, and we do so by applying a production system certified by quality processes. Animal welfare, attention to the environment, and sustainability are the cornerstones of our work. Our company works in perfect harmony with the territory in which it was born and in which it continues to develop. It is an active part of its economy and helps keep our heritage alive.

We are an active part of the consortium for the protection of PGI Sardinian lamb, of which we are one of the main producers. Just like 50 years ago, our working philosophy is still to fuse tradition and modernity. From the very beginning we have always chosen to adopt a production system that respects the land and its resources, combining the ancient knowledge of our fathers with modern technology. In our plants, we never compromise on safety. Our entire production chain is subject to strict HACCP monitoring and our products undergo automated quality control. This is how we can guarantee good, safe meat. Good because it is made according to tradition. Safe because it is processed with the most sophisticated and modern quality control systems.
