{"id":226288,"date":"2022-01-18T19:09:02","date_gmt":"2022-01-18T18:09:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/formacarni.it\/agnello-di-sardegna-igp\/"},"modified":"2022-01-19T10:50:34","modified_gmt":"2022-01-19T09:50:34","slug":"agnello-di-sardegna-igp","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/formacarni.it\/en\/forma-carni-secondo-natura\/agnello-di-sardegna-igp\/","title":{"rendered":"PGI Sardinian lamb"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Forma Group is a historical and active member of CON.T.A.S, the consortium for the protection of the PGI designation of Sardinian lamb.<\/p>\n<p>It is often said that the quality of the land makes for good meat; a statement that is particularly true of Sardinian lamb, which draws its qualities from the peculiarities of the area in which it is reared.<\/p>\n<p>As stated in the Specification, only lambs born and reared in Sardinia <em>(&#8230;) <\/em><strong><em>in a completely natural environment characterized by wide open spaces exposed to strong sunshine, winds and the Sardinian climate \u2013 which perfectly meets the requirements of the species \u2013 can be considered PGI Sardinian lamb.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><em>Our lambs are mainly reared in the wild; only during the winter period and at night can they be housed in suitable facilities with adequate air circulation, lighting, flooring, sanitary facilities and checks. Lambs must be fed exclusively on their mother&#8217;s milk (so-called \u2018milk lambs\u2019), while for other types grazing can only be supplemented with natural foods and wild essences specific to the habitat of the island of Sardinia.
